If not, expect to see more of it soon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">It shows gold priced in Dollars per ounce across what the TV anchors would call the &#8220;very&#8221; long term&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/122.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3624\" title=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/122.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">As the <a href=\"http:\/\/gold.bullionvault.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gold<\/a> story goes mainstream (the BBC news apparently quoted gold prices alongside its cursory glance at the FTSE and Dow last night), that long-term shape in Dollar-gold is due for ever-more comment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">To get a little perspective, you might also want to look at gold from another angle. Such as this one&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/27.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3625\" title=\"2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/27.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"273\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">Seen from the Euro-end of the telescope, <a href=\"http:\/\/gold.bullionvault.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gold<\/a>&#8216;s current bull market didn&#8217;t really get started until 2005, rather than its 2001 start in Dollars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">All told, in fact, gold priced in Euros didn&#8217;t really go anywhere \u2013 net-net \u2013 for 15 years starting 1990. You can see that Dollar prices were little changed across that period, too. Whereas, over the last half-decade, the Euro-gold price hasn&#8217;t shot up quite so high as Dollar-gold. Because, to date at least, the European Central Bank hasn&#8217;t set about destroying its own currency with quite the same verve as the Fed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">Then again, that apparent &#8220;spike&#8221; in gold prices measured in both Dollars and Euros during 2010 is worth squinting at, too. Because those recent moves might give you vertigo when viewed across 36 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">But unlike the 1980 spike, they&#8217;re both somewhat less than vertical when viewed on a logarithmic scale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/33.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3626\" title=\"3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goldgenie.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/33.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"268\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">Better showing the rate-of-change, this third and final chart puts the current &#8220;record-high gold!&#8221; headlines in context, at least on a numerical basis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 1.4em;\">Gold&#8217;s ascent in the Dollar clearly began earlier than it did in the Euro.
