Gold Plating Awards, Trophies and Corporate Gifts
An award is only as good as it looks in the photograph. Gold plating is what turns a competent trophy into something a recipient keeps on display rather than in a drawer.
What we plate
Trophies, cups and shields
Awards, plaques and presentation pieces
Commemorative items and anniversary gifts
Corporate gifts and executive pieces
Branded items and bespoke commissions
Existing awards being refreshed or restored
Batch work
Quantity changes the quote. If you have forty trophies rather than one, tell us at the outset — batch work is priced differently from single pieces, and the per-item cost falls as the run gets longer.
Our minimum project charge is £250, and beyond that we quote on size, base material, existing finish, preparation required, complexity, chosen finish, quantity and delivery.
Deadlines
Most projects are completed within 7 working days, and we confirm the timescale in your quotation.
Awards work usually has a fixed, immovable date behind it. Tell us the event date when you enquire rather than afterwards — it is the single most useful thing you can give us, and it determines whether we can take the job at all.
Choosing a finish
We work in 24k, 22k, 18k and 9k gold, rose gold and platinum, with mirror, brushed, satin and antique surface finishes.

Mirror photographs best and is the usual choice for presentation pieces. Satin and brushed are more restrained and suit corporate gifting where a high shine can look ostentatious. Antique suits heritage awards and long-running trophies where a new finish would look out of place against the history of the piece.
Base materials
Trophies and awards are commonly brass, zinc alloy, stainless steel or copper, and all plate well. We also work with silver, aluminium, titanium and chrome-plated parts. Plastic components — common in modern trophy construction — require a specialist assessment, so send photographs of the full piece including any plastic elements.
Restoring existing awards
Long-running trophies that have worn can be stripped, prepared and replated. Perpetual trophies in particular tend to come back to us every few years. Our standard finish is 5 microns and we can plate up to 10, which is considerably more durable than most original trophy plating.

Plating carried out on your own items carries a three-year Goldgenie warranty, subject to applicable warranty terms and normal exclusions.
