June has commenced with ‘Watch Art’, a wonderful exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery off Duke of York Square in London.  Until the 7th of June, the history and work of Patek Philippe, the ultra luxury Swiss watchmakers, will be on show.

Patek Philippe, founded in 1852 by Polish watchmaker Antoni Patek, the company has continued to stay within his family and their watches are considered to be amongst the finest in the world.

The Saatchi Gallery is showcasing as 400 exhibits from the Swiss watchmakers across 15 themed rooms and visitors can explore replica installations of the company’s historic Geneva headquarters and its workshop and museum.

There will be a complete collection of Patek Philippe timepieces on view, including many unique and one-off pieces and significant historical pieces, notably the first Swiss wristwatch every created, handmade by Patek Philippe in 1868.

If you are in London this week, this exhibition is not one to miss. If you find the time to go, you are sure to leave with a better understanding and appreciation of the art of measuring it.
